Newbiggin Lifeboat

Reason: Fishing Coble

​

H M Coastguard requested the launch of Newbiggin Lifeboat to go to the assistance of a fishing coble which had suffered machinery failure.

The lifeboat proceeded to a position north of Cresswell where the coble had manage to deploy an anchor to prevent any drift inshore. Arriving on scene a tow rope was connected to the casualty which was then brought back to the beach at Newbiggin. The lifeboat was then recovered and returned to station.
