Newbiggin Lifeboat

Reason: Persons in distress
The Lifeboat was tasked to launch immediately following reports of people in distress offshore of Sandy Bay Caravan Park.
Making best speed and arriving on scene within minutes two people were recovered from the water to the lifeboat with a third already being ashore. Casualties were given a casualty care assessment by the crew onboard, before being landed on the beach near the River Wansbeck and handed into the care of H M Coastguard units. The lifeboat then returned to station.
