Newbiggin Lifeboat

Time: 8.18 pm

 

Reason: Swimmer in distress

​

While the Lifeboat was returning from a training exercise H M Coastguard requested its immediate attendance at the River Wansbeck area where a person was reported to be in difficulty. Once on scene the person was recovered from the water and given casualty care onboard the lifeboat while it returned to Newbiggin Bay. The casualty was then passed over to an awaiting ambulance for further medical care and the Lifeboat was recovered to station.
