Newbiggin Lifeboat

Reason: Swimmers in distress

Humber Coastguard requested the immediate launch of the Lifeboat following reports of two people struggling in the sea at Cresswell.

Launching quickly the lifeboat proceeded to the area and on arrival were told the casualties were now ashore. As the lifeboat prepared to put a crewmember ashore to assess the swimmers medical condition Coastguard units arrived on scene and took charge of the casualties care. Humber Coastguard then released the lifeboat from tasking and it returned to station.
