H M Coastguard requested the launch of the Lifeboat to assist a fishing coble which had suffered mechanical failure and run aground.

The lifeboat launched and proceeded to the River Wansbeck estuary where the vessel with two occupants onboard was situated.

The lifeboat crew connected a tow rope, pulling the vessel afloat then once it was established the coble wasn't taking on any water it was towed into the river mouth and secured on its moorings ashore.

The Lifeboat then returned to station and was made ready for service.
