Newbiggin Lifeboat

Reason: Inflatable in difficulties

 

H M Coastguard paged immediate launch of the lifeboat following a report of an inflatable dinghy with two persons on board being blown offshore north of Church Point.

The lifeboat proceeded to the scene at best speed locating the vessel and took the casualties and the inflatable onboard.

Casualty Care was administered to one person who was feeling the effects of the cold as they were being returned to Newbiggin Bay.

Once ashore in the lifeboat station the casualties soon warmed up and were then handed over into the care of Newbiggin Coastguards.
