Reason: Vessel sinking

 

H M Coastguard requested the launch of the lifeboat to go to the assistance of a speed boat in the Sandy Bay area. 

​

The Lifeboat launched, proceed to the scene to find two persons in the sea beside the sinking boat north of the River Wansbeck. Both casualties were taken onboard the lifeboat the water ingress stabilized on the speedboat then a tow was connected to bring the vessel back to Newbiggin Bay. Once safely ashore the casualties were handed over to Newbiggin Coastguards.
